While relatively unknown by the average traveler to Mexico, the Northern Sierra Mountain Range is one of the most spectacular areas in all Mexico. The highlight is the world-famous train ride through the mountains to incredible Copper Canyon, which is actually a series of 9 major canyons that are longer and deeper than the more famous Grand Canyon in Arizona. Copper Canyon boasts the tallest waterfalls in the country, beautiful winding rivers, alpine forests, verdant meadows and ancient cultures.

Join us on one of the world’s greatest train rides on the famed Chihuahua al Pacifico (Chihuahua to the Pacific) railway offering breathtaking scenery, the chance to experience one of the world’s greatest engineering marvels and a look into the colorful life of the local Tarahumara Indians.

Day 1

Welcome to Chihuahua

Upon arrival in Chihuahua you will experience a private City Tour of Chihuahua City. Some of the highlights include visiting the home of infamous Pancho Villa, the picturesque State Capital Building with its beautiful Murals that describing Mexico’s vast History. You will then visit the principal Church of Town of the town before checking in to your hotel. The rest of the afternoon will be at leisure to relax and prepare for the next day’s adventures.

Night in Chihuahua.

Day 2

Chihuahua to Creel Historic Train Ride

Today is the start of your historic train journey beginning at 05:00 AM when you are transferred to the Chihuahua Train Station.  With an early morning departure of 06:00 AM you will enjoy a delicious breakfast on board while en route to Creel.  Upon arrival in Creel, you will begin the interesting sightseeing tour of Creel and the surrounding areas.  You will be mesmerized by the lands of the Tarahumara Indians, the famous Rock Cave, the Jesuit Mission Church of San Ignacio, the magnificent Arareko Lake & the Valley of Mushrooms & the intriguing Frog´s rock formations.

Day 3

Welcome to Unbelievable Copper Canyon

After breakfast you’ll have some leisure time to explore a bit more before embarking on what will surely be the highlight of your trip – arrival at the famed Copper Canyon!  Upon arrival you will have lunch and then have the entire afternoon to explore the area on your own.

Overnight in Copper Canyon.

Day 4

Copper Canyon to Bahuichivo and then Cerocahui 

After breakfast you will have a private tour of the Canyon which will include a visit to the different sites of the Canyon, the Suspension Bridge, Crystal Floor Miradors and the Balancing Rock. You will also experience an authentic tram ride as part of the tour.

After an early lunch at the hotel, you will return to the railroad station for the relatively short journey to the main town of the area – Creel. On arrival at the station you will be met and transferred to your hotel and the afternoon will be for visiting the town and the surrounding areas.

Day 5

Cerocahui to Bahuichivo to Los Mochis

Today you will experience quintessential Copper Canyon at its best.  Following breakfast you will have a private tour Cerro Gallegos to enjoy the stunning scenery, Tarahumara land of San Ignacio and the magnificent view of Urique Canyon. Upon departing on the train once again, you will continue your once-in-a-lifetime journey to Los Mochis. This portion of the journey is the most spectacular as the train goes through 86 tunnels and 37 bridges before arriving at Los Mochis.

Day 6

End of the Line with Optional Mexico Extensions
